Meet Brandon
I was first appointed a visiting judge in October of 2023, and have presided on over 400 cases covering many of the areas that are listed below. People ask me, what does a Justice of the Peace do. Well, JP's handle a lot of issues that affect the daily lives of people in our community, for example.
- Small Claims (up to $20,000)
- Evictions
- Property Seizures
- Truancy
- Occupational Drivers Licenses
- County Traffic Tickets
- Weddings
When I'm on the bench, it is crucially important to me that when members of the community are before me they feel welcome, heard, and are treated fairly.

I have served in a number of capacities over the years including as the District 4 Citizen Homelessness Commissioner. We were tasked with working to end homelessness in Dallas and improving the lives of our homeless neighbors.
During my time on the Commission we were instrumental in several major initiatives.
+ We launched the Dallas Connector Bus service.
+ We pushed and eventually got the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center opened as the city's Emergency Inclement Weather facility.
+ We started the process that was ultimately approved to change the City Charter to allow churches to legally act as homeless shelters during inclement weather.

I had the privilege of being elected President of the Stonewall Democrats of Dallas, one of the largest Democratic clubs in the state of Texas, after serving as Vice President in 2018. During my 2 terms as president I was a tireless advocate for my brothers & sisters in the LGBTQ community.
In 2020, with the help of my amazing executive board, I guided the organization through the worst parts of the Covid pandemic. We pioneered new ways to engage with elected officials during the lockdown and we never stopped working.

I am a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served my county from 1995 - 1999.
I continue be a vocal advocate for my fellow disable veterans in all the service that I do.
I have mentored many students over the years and guided them and their families through the decisions of college, military, trade school, or entering the workforce. Some of my proudest moments have been around my kiddos and helping them work towards their futures.
